WWE.com has posted a new gallery featuring photos from backstage at Hall of Fame. I’ve added one photo of Layla from backstage posing for a picture with Maria Menounos. Be sure to check it out!
You can watch Layla started from 2:22:20 to 2:43:44.
During this WWE Hangout, Layla was alongside Yoshi Tatsu as they answered questions from fans and talked about Wrestlemania, Lay-Cool, and lots more! You can read a write-up of what Layla talked about below -
Layla joins in and apologizes for interrupting Yoshi and the two ask each other how they’re doing. Howard introduces Layla. Layla then greets everyone and starts to dance and Yoshi dances too. Howard then says that one thing Layla brings constantly to the table is a bucket of energy. Layla then says that she remembers when Yoshi first came to WWE.
She says that if she were to go to Japan and speak their language, she thinks she would be quiet and that never happens. Howard says that Layla has been in the WWE for quiet some time, he asks her since she’s been here, has everything been the way she perceived it to be when she started in WWE. Layla says no, this for her has been the best journey in her life, from day to day. There were days she woke up and feels like she can’t do this and then there are days where she says she loves this, best job ever. And she’s had an amazing career, she never thought that she would last this long coming from the Diva Search, having not a clue what she was getting herself into, what she was doing, no experience, no clue, and she kept herself here because she wanted and vowed to all the fans and people who voted for her in the Diva Search that she will stick around and will be the Diva Search winner that everyone will remember. She also vowed to get better at wrestling and become champion. She then talked about how she was the last Women’s champion and the first British Women’s champion.
Everyday she says thank you to everyone who voted for her and supported her when she was in the Diva Search because they’ve made her dream come true and given her a life that she never, ever thought she was ever going to be apart of. She says how she came from London not expecting anything. She got hurt and was out for a year and to get through that was something that she didn’t know if she could do and to get back in the ring and to be able to do this again. Layla then says that she’s very grateful and very, very humble and she still to this day, wants to say thank you to everyone out there who ever voted for her and gave her this opportunity because it’s still a dream.
Howard then says it’s safe to say that Layla is Britain’s Greatest Export. Layla says that she doesn’t think people know that she’s from England since it says that she hails from Miami , Florida, but she was actually born and raised in London – Chelsea. She also says that she’s lost her accent and when she goes home, her family makes fun of her all the time. Her sisters make fun of her and say ” who are you?” “where are you from”, Layla then says that she didn’t mean to lose her accent and she hopes that one day, she can kind of get it back and people will believe her and be like “OMG, she’s a Londoner.”
Howard the asks Yoshi if he likes going to England to which Yoshi says “Yeah, of course” and Layla says he better say of course. Howard then says that’s it’s a very special weekend and asks Layla what her thoughts and beliefs on Wrestlemania from not only a stand point but from the charitable point of view, from the point of rubbing elbows with the fans. Layla says that it gets better every year. She says she loves Wrestlemania because it’s all over the city, every city they go to , they take over and it generates money into the community and not only that, she feels like it’s the best time and the best week. She says they actually get to give back to the community, they get to do all the charity events. She then goes on to say that this year has been amazing for her. She says that she was at St.Mary’s Hospital for Children, got to see the first respondents for hurricane Sandy, and also for 9/11, just to show back that WWE cares, that WWE cares about the fans and the people who serve our country. To her, Wrestlemania is phenomenal, it’s touching, it’s like excitement, it makes you cry and makes you happy, and it makes her proud to be a WWE Diva.
She goes on to say that the matches are also phenomenal and it’s the icing on the cake. Layla then says that it’s not only that, but the fans. She says that she spent three hours taking photos with everybody and she’s hugged about 400 people! “You guys are the best fans in the world.” Layla says that she was in the NBA and she’s seen the fans but the WWE fans are the most passionate and sometimes frantic and say she’s kidding then goes on to say that the fans shows you how they feel and that if they love you, they love you and then says she’s talking too much and apologizes.
Layla then says she wants to talk to the fans. The first fans are Misha and Brad, Layla says they’re beautiful and asks them how old they are. Layla then says that they’re babies and congratulates them on their marriage. Layla then says that she’s kind of jealous. Misha then asks Layla what made her want to be a WWE Diva and how can she become a Diva. Layla tells Misha that she is absolutely beautiful and that she could totally be a Diva. All she has to do is tell WWE that Misha wants to be a Diva. She then says that you got to have the passion for it, and that she has the looks. Layla then answers that it fell on her hands, she didn’t know, she was a dancer and wanted to be an entertainer, and the Diva Search fell on her lap and said to herself that there was no way she could do this. Layla says it’s tough and hard and she fell in love. She says she’s addicted to it. Layla says she was just a very fortunate person , it was time in, and she feels like sometimes just because you don’t plan to be something, you just don’t know, you’re destined to be that and you just don’t realy realize it and that what she thinks happened with her. Layla then starts to sing “Chapel of Love” by the Dixie Cups to Misha and Brad. Layla and Howardthen try to get Yoshi to sing along. Yoshi then starts singing a Japanese song while Layla dances next to him.
When Michelle McCool and Layla said they were going to make Mickie James’ life a living hell on SmackDown in late 2009, they weren’t kidding. After cutting up her ring gear with scissors and attacking her in the locker room, Team Lay-Cool did their worst on SmackDown in November of 2009 when they made a video that would permanently scar the southern belle. Creating their own version of the nursery rhyme “Old MacDonald,” the mean girls superimposed Mickie’s face on a swine and christened her “Piggie James.” Sticks and stones? Team Lay-Cool’s cutting words did more damage to James than a Singapore cane ever could. The former Divas Champion may have fought back, but Michelle and Layla’s bullying affected her so deeply that she was gone from WWE within months.

The stars come out for the red carpet on Oscar weekend, but the Divas know how to rock a designer gown just as well as Hollywood. Check out these exclusive photos of WWE’s tens dressed to the nines in their red carpet best.
WWE has treated us with New Year’s Eve Divas photos, including Layla. I’ve added 2 amazing shots of Layla, she looks fantastic in them, sporting red lips along with a bandage dress and black wedged boots. Two shots from the same shoot were revealed in the 25 days of divas, which you can check out by clicking here. Enjoy!
Wade Barrett, Zack Ryder, Layla and others weighed in on three of Sunday’s biggest bouts: the World Heavyweight Championship Chairs Match between Big Show and Sheamus; the John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler Ladder Match for The Showoff’s Money in the Bank contract; and the ever-intriguing Six-Man Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match between Ryback & Team Hell No and The Shield — Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins.
Layla shared her predictions for John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler at TLC. Check it out below :
John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler (Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank contract)
Layla: This will be a tough, tough fight, but my money’s on Dolph. It’s his time, and he deserves it, too. He’s worked so, so hard. Love him or hate him, he really is a showoff, but he has a lot to show off about. I think that’s going to be a shocker, the jaw-dropper of the night, big time.
